How might we design….
an inspiring, luxury, and functional digital experience to inspire and serve two distinct user groups.
Overview
Stakeholders
The Atlas Ocean Voyages company ready to level up their site as they’ve grown
Two distinct User Groups: luxury cruisers and travel agents
Creators
The Matic Digital team including a content strategist, UX researcher and designer (yours truly), one branding master, and a UI afficionado
Deliverables
Website redesign
Brand update
Booking flow
Authenticated user experience
It all begins with research.
The Matic Team headed to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a 2-day workshop with the Atlas crew to gain insight from the experts in the industry.
A level deeper
Using the insights gained from the workshop, this UX chef got back to the kitchen and rolled out a research plan.
A handful of user interviews, phone calls to Travel Agents, and some design magic later…. emerge our personas.
From Research to Blueprints
Working with the content strategist on the IA, I attached the personas to the places in the site that would best serve their journeys.
From the IA, grew the wireframes, which as any UXer knows, mobile first on smallest screen size.
You can explore a scrappy prototype of the mobile wireframes here:

Mobile and beyond
Some translation later…
Wireframes to Final Design
After wrapping up all screen translations and breakpoints, UI came in and added that spice. Et voila!
